Since it is St Patrick's Day I thought the thank you in Irish was appropriate. I'm behind on my blogging, slacking on my own assignment..DOH!
Anyways, while I should be out the door right now, I wanted to give a huge thank you to Kohl, Paco and Jordan, who came to my two English 102 classes and helped us connect how the information were are studying works for them and gave us names of books and authors to look for, which was great for for helping my students finish their research papers. We really appreciate them sharing their stories and knowledge with us and hope they enjoyed spending time with us as well.
I'd better get going, yet will blog more later.
Happy St Patrick's Day and remember DON"T DRINK the GREEN BEER. It is considered "Plastic Paddy"-ish and not someplace you really need to go. Have a safe and sane time and I look forward to seeing people at the open-mic.

I think it's great when we have guest speakers come into class and share their stories and open up allowing others to see what their life is like. Paco, Kohl, and Jordan thanks a bunch. Everything you guys are doing is great and is really appreciated. Keep up the inspirational work.
ReplyDeleteI third the thank yous. I know you guys are in college like we are so taking time during finals really is a big deal. When you come you aren't just talking to a bunch of students who are paying to be there sure some don't care but some do care. I know for myself I love it when you guys visit. Your words echo threw the air. I am looking forward to watching your growth. You can do anything and I am standing behind you and I can bet others are too.
ReplyDeleteI thank a lot Kohl, Paco and Jordan they are great people. Thanks a lot for coming to school and making the effort to come when we are all very busy. I always enjoy their stories and how many knowledge they seem to have. Thank you very much :)
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed it, just sad that I remembered my questions that I wanted to ask them after they had already left!
ReplyDeleteI think we all thank Kohl, Paco and Jordan. The short time we have spent listening to you guys has promoted a huge window of opportunity to learn about Native Americans. I really appreciate taking time out of your busy schedule to come talk to us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Kohl, Paco and Jordan for what they did in class, which really helped all of us knowing more about Native Americans and what they thought about their culture.I really enjoyed their stories sharing and their talking are such interesting. Glad to have the chance to be one of the class.
ReplyDeleteHaha remember one year ago at St Patrick's Day I was in your history class and I noticed that most people were wearing some green that day but I was a nongreen peron(I never have any green cloth besides my jounior high school uniform it was all green even the pant which made the students looked like a buch of cabbages. After 4 years of wearing that every winters I am done for green)
ReplyDeleteHaha I never know what is St Patrick's Day even if I searched online and I still don't get it.
And really, after taking this class I have grow a lot more respect on minorities especially Native Americans. I think it is very unfair to treat them like that and they have endured so many!
ReplyDeleteI want to say thank you to Paco, Kohl, and Jordan for coming an giving their amazing stories. I don't think I would've ever learned about the Sand Creek Massacre or the Pine ridge reservation if it wasn't for them.
ReplyDeleteI thank a lot to Paco, kohl and Jordan for bringing their views on Native Americans and being as Native Americans. And I really like the idea of having some guest speakers in the class, in that way, I can be educated by more than one scholar and the class probably will be more interesting. And it is great that you guys just come to the classroom and talk about random stuff about Native Americans, but the topics are attractive to me.
